Waste2Tricity International (Thailand) Ltd hosts Bangkok Waste 2 Energy Reception with UKTI
On the 10th January W2TI(T) hosted two events in Bangkok to support a joint venture with UKTI to promote the use of MSW for electricity generation in Thailand. Tim Yeo MP, visiting Thailand in a private capacity, addressed both events. Mr Yeo is Chairman of the British Parliament's of the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee.
In the afternoon; a press conference was held at the Renaissance Hotel for representatives of the local, national and regional press; here journalists were able to discuss the potential of W2E with Mr Yeo and with PK Thummukgool, W2T's country director, and members of the companies' company's management team.Tim Yeo MP, PK Thummukgool and Ply Pirom discuss W2E with members of the local, national and regional press.
In the evening Mr Yeo gave a presentation at a reception held at the Residence of the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Thailand. This reception was attended by senior government and industry figures with the presentation “Tackling Thailand's Waste Crisis: The Waste to Energy Solution” addressing how advanced technology could help resolve the twin issues of energy shortage and safe waste disposal.
The following day Mr Yeo had two engagements. First, accompanied by W2T(I)T directors and management he met with the Minister of Energy. His second to paid respects to the King at the Siriraj Hospital.
